Who says shades are just for summer? Don’t compromise your sense of style due to a snowstorm. Blogger and fashion writer Hebe Blackett shows us how to rock this seasons’ trends for the colder months in this weeks’ Style File….
1. Sports Luxe
Sports luxe is the trend to invest in this season, with designers such as Alexander Wang, Dries Van Noten and Philip Lim taking note and ruling the runways with sportswear. Fashionistas have been putting their own spin on the trend by taking it to the streets, combining both high fashion and high street,by merging their formal-wear and tailored pieces with sporting accents, creating subtly juxtaposing aesthetics. Think trainers with a sharp structured jacket, Adidas stripes with knitwear or slouchy silk joggers with a crisp button up shirt.
2. Oversized and Over-zealous
Suffering from winter chills? You’ll be glad to hear giant jumpers and colossal coats are the garments of choice for insta-famous fashionistas such as Camille Charriere (@camty), pictured below donning an on-trend polo neck knit. Comfy and cosy chic, thank goodness, is the way forward for the foreseeable future.
The Olsen Twins: always the queens of oversized, Parisian-style chic
Gone are the days of the archetypal girly girl and the macho man; concealed curves and ambiguous cuts are the mode this season. Whether it’s as simple as stealing your boyfriends’ clothes or following the lead of Hermes and Haider Ackermann with chic suits – androgyny is a defining trend for A/W15.
Despite what anyone says, I will be donning these winter styles, and accessorising with shades, whatever the weather. Rain? Aviators on. Snow? Wayfarers please. Blizzard? Well, maybe I’ll just stay inside all together in that case, but you see my point.
Find the perfect sunglasses to go with each of these trends: perhaps a sporty Oakley, a dramatic, oversized frame from Prada or a more androgynous Ray-Ban® shape! Which pair will you be donning?
