June is packed with music festivals. Every weekend sees a variety of acts performing in a variety of amazing venues across the world. We’ve selected our top picks for June, to help you choose where to head for a last minute dance in the sun.

Primavera Sound

When: 30th May – 3rd June

Where: Barcelona, Spain

Primavera Sound is the ideal festival for indie fans. They support new music and pride themselves on pushing forward creative and alternative acts. Their acts usually stand out from those touring the festivals throughout the year and draw a crowd looking for something unique. This year they welcome Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, Morrissey, Father John Misty, Björk, Migos, The National, Arcitc Monkeys, Cigarettes After Sex, Belle and Sebastian, Nick Cave

Field Day

When: 1st – 2nd June

Where: Brockwell Park, London, England

Field Day is a unique festival that pioneers an eclectic lineup along with a village fete mentality. The event mixes a whole host of ideas, sounds, and sights together to create a one off, not to be missed, two day event in the heart of London. This year’s line-up includes: Erykah Badu; AJ Tracey; Loyle Carner; Four Tet; Floating Points; and many more.

Ava

When: 1st – 2nd June

Where: T13, Belfast, Northern Ireland

AVA is an Audio Visual Arts Festival and Conference in Belfast that celebrates, amplifies and develops the strong current of electronic music and digital visual arts. The goal is to provide an opportunity for emerging and established artists, DJ’s, producers, and other professionals to show off their new work. Su Casa

When: 2nd June

Where: Boddelwyddan Castle, Rhyl, Wales

Su Casa is North Wales’ fastest growing music festival held across 4 stages in a 15th century castle. The venue in itself is incredible and this year’s line-up shows acts such as Darius Syrossian, Enrico Sangiuliano, and James Hype, performing.

Governors Ball

When: 1st – 3rd June

Where: New York, USA

Governors Ball takes place on New York’s Randall’s Island and had made history for facing a tropical storm and a flash flood and still taking place in full force. Major performers from around the globe come every year and so do celebrity spectators so you’ll be fan-girling all weekend. For 2018, acts like Eminem, Travis Scott, Halsey, James Blake, 2 Chainz will be gracing the stage in the Big Apple.

Field Trip

Where: Toronto, Canada

Field Trip holds a special place in the heart of Toronto’s festival scene. If you’re looking for a laid back weekend filled with food, fashion, photography, art and music, this festival is for you. 2018 acts includes the like of Metric, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Allan Rayman, Alvvays and more.

Bonnaroo

When: 7th – 10th June

Where: Manchester, TN, USA

Bonnaroo festival is one of the country’s largest music and arts gatherings and it offers an unbeatable camping experience in a large farm south of Nashville. Not only are there fabulous acts every year, but Bonnaroo also lays a focus on offering arts and crafts booths, homemade food and drinks. educational workshops, seminars, silent discos, restaurants, yoga classes and a cinema. The festival is like a mini city and really has something to keep you entertained every hour of the day. If you are all about the music though, you won’t be disappointed as this year Bonnaroo have Dua Lipa, The Killers, Eminem, Bon Iver, Alt-J, Nile Rodgers and Chic performing.

Download is the most prestigious hard rock and heavy metal festival in the world. Its three days packed full of the biggest names from the 70s right up to the newest generation, and if the heavier end of the spectrum is your thing then Download will take a heck of a lot of beating. This year’s acts are big: Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N’ Roses, You Me at Six, and many more…

Sonar

When: 14th – 16th June

Where: Barcelona

Sonar is an electronic music festival right in the heart of Barcelona. For three days, over 100,000 people flock to Barcelona as Sónar takes over venues across the city. Expect three days of cutting-edge dance music, a digital creative conference for industry insiders, and night-long parties for Sónar by Night. The line-up for 2018 shows acts like Diplo, Bicep, Ben Klock, and Bonobo performing.

Secret Solstice

When: 21st – 24th June

Where: Reykjavik, Iceland.

Secret Solstice welcomes big-name artists, a bumper line-up of DJs and experimental electronic bands who’ll give you more than enough to go on under the never-setting sun. This year’s line-up includes: Stormzy, Bonnie Tyler, Death From Above, Steve Aoki, and J Hus. Iceland is such a unique country for a festival, Secret Solstice offers the chance to experience once-in a lifetime venues. This year the ‘Into the Glacier Package’ allows 120 guests to see Dubfire within the breathtaking Langjökull, Europe’s second largest glacier. There’s also the ‘The Lava Tunnel’ event, where guests can hear a variety of acts in the Raufarhólshellir cave system caused by a volcanic eruption. The tickets are very limited so don’t wait to buy.
