Welcome back to this week’s B Sunglasses Round-up. Each week, we gather together everything that’s been happening in the eyewear world and put it all in one place. It’s the perfect place to get all the eyewear news for the week, without having to look all over for it. Last week, we talked about the big merger in the eyewear industry between Luxottica and Ellisor. This week, we’re looking at some of our latest lucky prize winners bloggers who are talking about and wearing our sunglasses, and the launch of Prada Eyewear’s exclusive new collection of Cinéma sunglasses.
January Giveaway Extravaganza Continues
On previous round-ups, we reported on our incredible giveaways throughout January. Our thinking was that January was the longest, most miserable month of the year, and that it would be great to cheer everyone up a little bit with some amazing eyewear giveaways. We ran everything on our social media platforms, which include Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, so that we could talk directly to our customers and potential customers.
In one giveaway, we gave followers the chance to win their choice of four sunglasses.
The lucky winner was Jemma James, who choose the incredible-looking Fendi sunglasses and sent us in a picture of her wearing them:
Jemma looks amazing in her new sunglasses, and we’re so pleased she loves them. Giveaways always make us feel good; it’s so nice to be able to give some great prizes to our customers.
We also offered the chance for people to win these incredible Ray-Ban®:
To win, all you have to do is follow us on Twitter. When we get to 10,000 followers, the 10,000th follower will win the sunglasses. It’s as simple as that.
And we didn’t stop there! We also gave away these Persol sunglasses last week:
These sunglasses went to Bernadette Lane last week, and it was amazing to see how many people of Facebook made a point of saying congratulations to her. Somehow, without meaning to, we seemed to have acquired a really nice bunch of followers! We were especially pleased to offer these Persol sunglasses, as we like to shout about our top Italian designers. Persol is one of the biggest eyewear designers in the world, and their sense of style is unlike anything else out there. Check out our Persol collection today, if you’re interested, but here are a few of our favourites:
Exclusive Launch of New Prada Cinéma Sunglasses Collection
This week saw one of the most anticipated launches over the last year, as Luxottica and DFS Group (the luxury travel company) got together to launch the new collection of Prada Eyewear’s Cinéma sunglasses. This new collection of sunglasses is exclusively available in airports that are associated with DFS airports, and has been available since November and this week’s event was kind of like a slightly belated flat-warming party. It’s great to see such a big deal made of Prada’s incredible Cinéma sunglasses.
What has been so interesting about the whole marketing campaign around this exclusive line of Prada sunglasses is that it uses social media and offline platforms to connect with travellers whilst they’re shopping in the selected airports. It’s perhaps a sign of the two-pronged approach to marketing that we’ll see from most online and in-store retailers as time goes on. It’s being hailed a resounding success and we can see why, when the product they’re trying to sell is a limited-edition pair of Prada sunglasses! If you’d like your own not-so-limited-edition Prada Cinéma sunglasses, check out the following options here at B Sunglasses:
Bloggers Talking about our Sunglasses!
Recently, we were very excited to see our sunglasses featured on a brilliant fashion blog written by Amy Spencer, who is based in Scotland and takes the most amazing shots of herself wearing the new designer gear she buys or is gifted. We’ve appeared in a few blogs by Amy, so definitely make sure you check out her blog, The Little Magpie. Here’s our favourite shot from her post about Christmas traditions where she’s wearing Fendi Iridia sunglasses from our collection:
Fendi is one of our top designer brands and we love to see top bloggers like Amy making the most out of them, perhaps showing other people how best to wear them!
We are also lucky to have blogger Charlotte Fisher include our Gucci sunglasses in her beautiful post called Embroidered Overload. Gucci sunglasses are big, bold, and full of character. Much like Charlotte. You should check out her blog when you get a minute.
And that’s all the sunglasses news we have for you this week. Please come back next week for another B Sunglasses Round-up.
