B Sunglasses Round-up | Sunglasses News September 04 – 10 | News

Welcome to this week’s B Sunglasses Round-up. Our round-ups are the perfect place to find all the latest sunglasses news in the fashion, sports, and technology industries. We also include stories about new designer brands here at B Sunglasses, as well as sales, competitions, and pretty much anything else we think our customers might be interested in. On last week’s round-up, we looked at the extensive history of Burberry, the top British fashion brand. We also looked over the range of sunglasses in our end-of-season sale, which finished this week. This week, we’re talking about the new women-centred Carrera sunglasses here at B Sunglasses and we’re looking ahead to next week’s B Sunglasses Bake Off charity event!

New Feminine Carrera Models Here at B Sunglasses

In the past, all of our Carrera sunglasses have either been unisex or for men. This is mainly because Carrera’s style is cool and androgynous. However, Carrera has released a new range of sunglasses aimed at women and people with feminine aesthetics, and we’re really pleased to add them to our wider Carrera sunglasses collection. You can find all the new models in our women’s Carrara sunglasses collection. Here are a few of our favourites:

Carrera 5047 Sunglasses in Matte Black

Carrera 1011 Sunglasses in Red

Carrera 1010 Sunglasses in Blue

Carrera 1001 Sunglasses in Blue Red White

Carrera 1009 Cateye Sunglasses in Opal Burgundy

B Sunglasses Cake Off Charity Event Is Happening this Tuesday

Here at B Sunglasses, we try to regularly raise money for charity – and if we can have a little fun while we’re at it, then all the better! This Tuesday we’re hosting big banquet where we sell a huge variety of tasty treats for charity. And because we love a good contest, we’re going to have a Cream Éclair Challenge to see who can eat the most cream eclairs in two minutes. It will be £3 to enter the competition (with all entry fees going to charity), and the victor will win a new pair of Ray-Ban® Wayfarers (donated by us!). If you’re interested in attending the B Sunglasses Bake Off, pop into the Clay Shed in Hoults Yard, in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The charity we’re raising money for is called Cash for Kids. Cash for Kids is a charity dedicated to helping children across 22 areas in the UK. Their aim is to respond to children’s needs, helping them reach their full potential. It’s an incredibly worthy charity and we’re very pleased to generate donations for them.

Brand in the Spotlight: Stella McCartney

Earlier this week, Eve wrote a longer spotlight article all about Stella McCartney. It’s great and you can check it out here. I’d like to include a small spotlight here as well, for anyone who just wants an overview.

Stella McCartney is one of the biggest names in the fashion industry. The brand is named after its founder and lead designer, the daughter of Beatle star Sir Paul McCartney and activist Linda McCartney. Stella McCartney is famous for its modern, Avant Garde, designer fashion, but the brand’s ethics are just as forward thinking. The brand does everything it can to combine progressive political movements with high fashion. For instance, Stella McCartney is very outspoken when it comes to the use of animal fur in the fashion industry. As such, no animals are harmed in the making of any of her company’s products. It’s particularly impressive that Stella McCartney has managed to build a huge fashion brand without ever using leather.

Stella McCartney is also a big advocate of sustainable materials and recyclables. With a strong focus on eco-fashion, Stella McCartney chooses her materials well and said that “I am always asking myself what have done to make this garment more sustainable and what else can we do.” Stella McCartney’s eyewear is made with bio-based materials that are as eco-friendly as possible. The best part is that these materials look amazing – proving that Stella hasn’t had to compromise on style or quality in her pursuit of eco-fashion. We have a vast range of Stella McCartney sunglasses, but here are a few of our favourites:

Stella McCartney New Falabella Cateye Sunglasses in Havana Gold

Stella McCartney Double Bridge Round Sunglasses in Black

Stella McCartney Chunky Falabella Sunglasses in Havana Gold

Quick Note About Delivery on Our Prescription Glasses and Sunglasses

We’ve recently been patting ourselves on the back over our new Royal Mail delivery options, as they are faster, cheaper, and offer more variety than our previous delivery service. However, our new delivery options are causing a little bit of confusion for some people, as the two-day delivery service takes longer than two days for any order with prescription lenses. This has always been the case, but we want to make this as clear as possible for our customers. The reason for the delay with prescription lens orders is because we need to make your lenses to match your prescription. This takes time, so the two-day delivery option refers to the time after your prescription lenses have been made. If you’re thinking about buying an item from us in the future or are interested in our delivery options and policies, check out our delivery details page.

Blogger and Instagram Coverage

This year, we’ve been trying to take stock of all the amazing bloggers and Instagrammers who’ve been wearing our sunglasses and shouting about them. It’s taken us years to build the B Sunglasses name into one of the biggest and most-trusted eyewear brands in the UK, and this status means that some really big online influencers are interested in working with us. This week, fashion and travel blogger Joey London was in Vancouver and he posted this image of himself wearing a pair of these Saint Laurent sunglasses. Expect to see way more of Joey London in upcoming fashion weeks.

Also this week, Rudy, who has a new fashion blog called Sassy Fashion Rudy, wrote a blog post featuring these Stella McCartney sunglasses. Rudy writes well and we’re looking forward to future blog posts from her.

Also this week, The Muckle Cycling Club (who we proudly sponsor) came in 2nd place in the English Triathlon Relay Championships. This is an incredible achievement that owes a lot to the club’s tireless dedication and training.

We supply The Muckle Cycling club with some of the best sports sunglasses in the world. If you’re inspired by their achievement and would like to get your own pair of running sunglasses, check out our sports sunglasses collection.

That’s it for this week’s B Sunglasses Round-up. Come back next week for more sunglasses news.
