Welcome to this week’s B Sunglasses Round-up. Each week, we gather the biggest sunglasses and eyewear news stories and put them in one place for our readers. Our goal is to make our blog one of the top places for eyewear enthusiasts to keep up to date. Last week, we talked about our blogger coverage and we looked at the history of the world-famous Levi’s brand. This week, we’re looking at the top sunglasses choices ahead of festival season and Men’s Fashion Week in London!
Top Festival Sunglasses
As we get into festival season, many of us are on the lookout for a new festival get up. Festival sunglasses need to provide you with total UV protection as you’ll probably spend hours in the baking sun. They should also be hardy enough to survive a bump or two. And, most importantly, they should look amazing. With a very promising summer ahead of us, with some amazing festival line-ups, we thought we’d put together a selection of some of our most impressive sunglasses that would be perfect for festival season. Here are a few of our favourites:
B Sunglasses are Supporting Stu Morton’s Record-Breaking Solo Row Attempt
Former commando in the Royal Marines Stu Morton is attempting to break a world record by rowing over 4000 miles. Stu has to row this distance in under 96 days to beat the is the current record. However, his target is just 63 days – which is pretty incredible. Stu will be raising money for two charities: the Jonny Wilkinson Foundation and Rock 2 Recovery. If you’d like to donate, visit his donation page. We are proud to support Stu and we wish him the best of luck. We’ll continue to report on Stu’s progress as he makes this incredible journey.
Men’s Fashion Week
It’s Men’s Fashion Week in London and we were excited to get some insight into next year’s Spring and Summer trends. One big change we noticed in this month’s fashion week is that the 90s-nostalgia vibe is producing a lot of baggier styles. This shift is huge when you consider how long slim-fitting clothes have been at the height of fashion.
With sunglasses, we saw a lot of Wayfarer-style sunglasses from various designers, but all with their own take on the classic Ray-Ban® design. Ray-Ban® Blaze sunglasses collection was also a big hit, as its innovation of putting the lenses in front of the rims is a breath of fresh air in the eyewear fashion industry.

Brand in the Spotlight: Salvatore Ferragamo
The brand in the spotlight this week is Salvatore Ferragamo. Eve wrote an in-depth article about Salvatore Ferragamo but I wanted to include a smaller spotlight here as well. Salvatore Ferragamo is in the spotlight this week because they have released their new collection and we’re very excited to add so many stunning new sunglasses to our store. The brand was named after its founder, Salvatore Ferragamo, who was born in 1989, in Bonito, Italy. A virtuoso fashion designer, Salvatore made his first pair of shoes when he was only nine years old. After this, he went on to study shoemaking and he moved to the US when he was fourteen years old. Years later, however, Ferragamo moved back to Italy and set up his headquarters there, catering for some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, such as Sophia Lauren, Audrey Hepburn, Greta Garbo, and Marilyn Monroe. His brand became famous for its use of innovative materials and he was referred to as “shoemaker to the stars”. The Salvatore Ferragamo brand has carried on its founder’s legacy, expanding its incredible luxury collections, including a stunning range of sunglasses, all with a mix of modern and classical Italian aesthetics. Check out our range of Salvatore Ferragamo sunglasses today – here’s a little sneak peek of what’s on offer:
Walter the Dog Wins 3rd Prize in Local Crufts!
With so much unpleasantness and seriousness in the news, it’s important to celebrate the little things and to have fun this summer. So, on this note, we’d like to announce that Walter the dog (the best friend of B Sunglasses’ Jake) won 3rd place in the local Hoult’s Crufts competition. The exact category he won in was ‘waggiest tail’. This isn’t strictly sunglasses news, but Walter is basically one of the B Sunglasses crew, and we like to celebrate our people’s success!
That’s all the sunglasses news we have time for this week. Please come back next week for another B Sunglasses Round-up!
