B Sunglasses Round-up | Sunglasses News August 07 – 13| News

Welcome to this week’s B Sunglasses Round-up. Each week, we find the most recent sunglasses news stories as well some of our own stories (new brands, competitions, giveaways, etc) and put them all in one place. Think of it as catch-up news article for anyone interested in eyewear fashion. Last week, we talked about new technology that allows the lenses in sunglasses to double up as solar panels. This week, we’re talking about the new arrivals to our Gucci sunglasses collection, as well as the completely new Smith Optics sunglasses collection here at B Sunglasses.

New Arrivals from Gucci

As we teased last week, we have a bunch of new arrivals this week from many of the biggest sunglasses brands. Rather than overwhelm you, we thought it’d be good to focus on Gucci and Smith this week. Gucci is one of the biggest fashion houses in the world. Gucci’s eyewear has always channelled the brand’s opulent Italian aesthetic, and we are pleased to welcome several more statement pieces to our Gucci sunglasses collection. Browse the entire range, but here are a few of our top picks:

Brand in the Spotlight: Smith

Earlier this week, Eve wrote a larger spotlight article about Smith, but I’d like to a smaller version here for anyone who just wants a glancing overview of this brand. Smith is a new brand to B Sunglasses and we’re really pleased to add yet another brilliant brand to our wider collection. Smith has been a big name in the eyewear industry for over 50 years. With a big focus on winter sports and outdoor adventure, Smith’s motto is “Experience is everything”. The brand was born from founder Bob Smith’s love of skiing. He wanted to be able to stay out for longer on the slopes, so he developed the first foam goggles with a thermal lens and breathable vent. Dr Bob Smith was just an orthodontist who loved to ski, and his passion drove the brand towards becoming one of the biggest ski goggles and active eyewear brands in the world.

In 2015, Smith reassessed its brand identity, adding a greater focus on style, without sacrificing the quality and practicality of its newer eyewear designs. Since this rebranding, Smith is more popular than ever and we’re pleased to include a range of Smith Optics sunglasses here at B Sunglasses. Check out the entire range, but here are a few of our favourites to whet your appetite:
