As the Ray-Ban® Envision Tour came to a close, the iconic eye-wear brand decided to go out with a bang.
Celebrating the coloured mirrored Outshine lens (you know, the one that allows you to people watch in the sun without getting caught). Ray-Ban® teamed up with multi-media graphic artist extraordinaire Kate Moross and New York music duo Lion Girl for the final date in the Envision tour which was hosted at a pimped out WW2 bunker in London’s Dalston Park. The Envision tour checked in earlier this year at Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester with sunglass’ showcases and amazing live music including Spector, Theme Park, Splashh and Willy Moon.
Yet the grand finale managed to draw in celebrity guests such as Mr. Hudson, actress Olivia Grant, former X-Factor popstrel Diana Vickers and DJ Goldierocks with its’ trendy East London setting, R&B soundtrack and fridges filled with ultra-slick Ray-Ban® sunglasses. The exclusive event was curated by Kate Moross, whose name many will recognise from her collaborations with Topshop and Cadbury’s as well serving as art director for Jessie Ware and Simian Mobile Disco’s music videos.
Moross created a heady atmosphere with a special installation that lit the winding corridors of the bunker to emulate the multi-tonal colours of the Outshine lens. Meanwhile celebs lounged on the balcony with cocktails to enjoy the events’ ultra-cool DJ sets and fading evening sunshine. Using Lion Girl’s single ‘Treat Me Like Fire’ as inspiration; the event was a sensory experience where visual treats could be discovered throughout the venue including exclusive clips of Lion Girls’ Jillian Hervey flaunting her glorious wild blonde mane in a New York studio.
Moross told i-D Magazine in June;
It was the first time I have been involved in a multi-faceted project, from choosing the band, designing the poster, collaborating with the team to planning the event, shooting, editing and grading the films, all in all it’s been hard work.
Collaborating with them and spending time together in NYC was an amazing experience… going through the rushes from filming was great fun.
Many celebs tweeted their snaps from the event whilst stars including fresh new talent Ella Eyre were spotted wearing their very own Ray-Ban® shades.
