Police Sunglasses | Neymar Jr campaign kicks off
In tandem with the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the world-famous eyewear brand have teamed up with Brazilian soccer hero Neymar Jr. to promote their SS14 campaign.
Taking a break from the pitch, the 22-year-old who also plays for FC Barcelona has followed in the footsteps of Antonio Banderas, Bruce Willis and -another sporting hero – David Beckham. The SS14 campaign shows Neymar wearing the Italian brands’ latest ultra-cool frame designs in a series of images shot by renowned photographer Rankin.
Ennio De Rigo, President of the eyewear company De Rigo Vision Spa that own Police says of the relationship:
“We are very proud about this new and exciting collaboration with Neymar Jr. As a young, passionate and talented star in his field; he embodies the Police DNA like no other with his maverick style”.
Police have perhaps been best known for making their mark on fashion in the 1980s, taking inspiration from sunglasses worn by the NYPD whilst their mirrored frames of the 1990s were some of the most popular around. With Neymar on board, two icons create a campaign worth its weight in gold.
Whether or not Neymar brings in the goals for Brazil at this years’ World Cup is one thing, but we know for sure that he scores a hattrick when it comes to style.
