To conclude the final stop at Fashion Month, we at B Sunglasses have been keeping a watchful eye over the catwalk trends at Paris Fashion Week.
Needless to say it was eventful with Marc Jacobs announcing his resignation as creative director for Louise Vuitton and demonstrating his final farewell show with his last ever collection for the French brand. Louis Vuitton demonstrated a ‘Showgirl’ theme with lace, feathers and sequins; all in black for a mournful Marc Jacobs send-off.
Meanwhile Givenchy turned heads by encrusting the faces of their supermodels with black rhinestones whilst Miu Miu turned up the quirk factor with kitsch Sixties and Seventies inspired animal prints. Valentino on the other hand continued the Grecian folk theme we saw in Milan with a touch of British aristocracy. Speaking of which, Brit icons Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood showed our European fashion counterparts how ‘chic’ is done the UK way!
Westwood appeared to pay homage to the French Revolution whilst Stella went for minimalist feminine shapes. The McQueen fashion house on the other hand went for bright, vibrant colours with feathers and cut-out lace.
Whilst celebrity crowds were drawn by the Chanel catwalk show (in fact the internet seemed incredibly excited that Katy Perry was there for some reason…) other big designer names including Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Celine and Chloe who wowed the likes of Pharrell Williams, Anna Del Russo, Kanye West and blogger Susie Bubble whilst Miranda Kerr was reportedly denied entry to the Louis Vuitton show for being ‘too late’. Ouch!
Paris was also the centre of gossip as M.I.A announced her collaboration with Versace and was also spotted in this seasons must-have pair of monochrome Balenciaga sunglasses which where also spotted on Salma Hayek.
However, Olivia Palermo officially takes the crown as best-dressed – and most spotted – at the years biggest fashion event as she made appearances in New York, London, Milan and Paris looking utterly flawless in a range of luxuriously stunning outfits and ultra-cool designer shades.
We can honestly say that we’re now super-excited for Spring 2014 if the past few weeks have been anything to go by, we are already picking out our sunglasses to match each trend that we spied. Get ahead of the fashion pack with our handy trend guide: Trend Spotting at Fashion Month
