Summer with Ray-Ban has been alive with colour, passion and free-spirited style. Each season, Ray-Ban continue to create a remarkable volume and variety of new eyewear that tops the market. Summer 2018 has been no exception; Ray-Ban sunglasses have continued to dominate. Here’s our top picks from the last few months…
Hexagonal Frames – Ray-Ban Marshals
Ray-Ban’s 2018 campaign celebrated diversity and freedom. Shot in the U.S., by Steven Klein, the campaign’s stunning images feature the slick Marshal frames worn by a driver setting off into the unknown. Klein said of the campaign: “Living in turbulent times, one of the things that evokes that for many people is a road trip. This campaign represents that no matter what hardships come your way, you can be an individual, go on your own path and experience fun, optimism, creativity, love…everybody’s looking for their own personal freedom.” The important story these few pictures tell, and the personality they express, is what attracted us to the Marshal style so strongly. Yet, B Sunglasses aren’t the only ones who love the hexagonal frames – this summer they’ve been huge. The Marshal frames are lightweight and versatile, in a classic gold metal frame, yet they express individuality with their hexagonal frame shape and double bridge detail. They’re a contemporary and edgy style that’s been filling our Instagram feeds since their release.
The most recent street wear style has shown us that if you want to look effortlessly cool then add a pair of tinted lenses to any outfit and you’re good to go. From bright red, to pale purple, to mirrored green lenses, the tinted style is big and continues to be a favourite look going into autumn. For a particularly dramatic look, the Matte Black Yellow Photochromic Ray-Ban frames are perfect. The style blends classic and contemporary, with vintage round frames but a striking futuristic colour scheme. Despite their popularity over summer, this style still manages to express individuality for any wearer.
Everybody has been asking all summer – will the tiny sunglasses trend last? Well, it’s September now and it’s going stronger and wilder than ever. Free-spirited style has been at the core of not only Ray-Ban’s campaigns, but also celebrity style this year. So, since Kanye West famously predicted their rise in an email to Kim Kardashian, tiny sunglasses have been at the forefront of the eyewear industry.
Ray-Ban have put their own style together with the tiny sunglasses trend to create these beautiful gold grey flash frames. The style remains classic in certain elements, such as the thin gold metal frames and Havana temple tips. This design makes the frames completely wearable every day, and has made them a top choice for fans of tiny sunglasses this summer.
Ray-Ban updates and revitalises their collections every season. However, their expertise in the industry comes from their passion for their roots and classic designs. Wayfarers were one of the first styles of sunglasses and they remain to be a best-seller every summer. Idris Elba, an icon for men everywhere, proves that Wayfarers will never go out of fashion. Not only at his Yardie yellow carpet event, but at a number of appearances this summer, Elba has topped each of his slick looks with a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers.
