Rory Mcilroy reclaimed the world number one spot this weekend at the Wells Fargo Championship which took place at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Although the 23 year old finished second after a close playoff with Rickie Fowler and D.A. points, he can take consolation in the fact that it was enough to edge past Luke Donald at the top of the world rankings.
This can only increase Mcilroy’s confidence when he comes to defend his US Open title in June.
The Northern Irish superstar first came to public attention when he played his first professional European Tour Event at the age of just 16.
Now just 23 and the world number one the sky is the limit for Mcilroy.
Obviously being so good at such a young age attracts a lot of attention which means the young golfer has a list of sponsors as long as his arm.
Among the sponsors is Oakley which of course sponsors numerous golfers, Mcilroy’s weapon of choice is the Oakley Fast Jacket which are also the preferred Oakley sunglasses of one of the more colourful characters on tour Ian Poulter.
