A paradise of snow, sun and stunning views. Morzine is an enchanting Alpine town situated in the vast mountains that offer relaxation and serenity, extreme sports and adventure and deliciously indulgent cuisine.

Morzine is situated in the huge area of the Portes du Soleil thats made up from 650km of space and straddles two countries. The area attracts everyone from beginners to snow veterans due to its huge variety of slopes.

For some easy-going relaxed skiing head up the Pleney and ski over the Les Gets side which offers gentle runs. If you’re more advanced then go up from Morzine and into Avoriaz and from here the pistes stretch far and wide. Avoriaz offers a big snow park with jumps and rails to try out and there’s always music blasting to create a lively atmosphere. On the other side of Avoriaz, skiing down towards Ardent, there’s a stunt park surrounded by trees called the Stash if you’re feeling like living life on the edge.

One of the greatest things about the Portes Du Soleil area is that it includes Switzerland so you can ski or snowboard off for an adventure from France. The notorious Swiss Wall is on many peoples’ black runs bucket lists and is one of the steepest black runs of the Alps.

After the sun begins to set skiers and snowboarders flock to the bars for apres ski. Morzine does not disappoint and hosts an array of bars or cosy cafes where you can get into the party spirit with a cold pint or wind down and snuggle up with a chocolat chaud or a vin chaud.

A common theme of going on a skiing holiday is indulging on rich and hearty food to gain some energy from all the activities of the day. The restaurants in Morzine are truly special with mouth-watering dishes on the menu like stone-baked pizzas, tartiflette and cheese fondue. A popular choice of restaurants is L’Etale. Situated in the heart of Morzine it has a gorgeous, authentic Alpine feel with old skis decorating the walls and huge candles burning on every table. They’re specialty is meat. Huge hangings of steak are presented and flamed in alcohol letting the juices drip into rice below. L’Etale will never disappoint.

There’s no better holiday home than a chalet. They’re cosy, traditional and have a beautiful exterior when covered with snow and glistening in the mountain sun. Light a fire and cosy up with more vin chaud whilst trying your hand at making a delicious french meal. If its a special occasion and you’re feeling like some glamour, find a chalet with an outdoor hot tub and gaze over the magical view of the mountains and the lights of the town whilst sipping on some bubbly in the tub.

The Pleney ski run that ends in Morzine town is lit up at night and often has night skiers flying down it making for some nightly entertainment. Night sledging is also on offer down the Pleney if you fancy a change and a fun family activity.

Morzine is a photographers paradise as the sun glimmers in the sunlight and the mountain range seems to be never ending. Paraskiers swoop down through the view daily and if you can catch one setting off, or gliding through the sunlight you’ll capture a golden image.
