This year, cancer support charity Macmillan are celebrating their 16th annual Celebrity Christmas Stocking Auction and B Sunglasses are getting in on the festive goodwill action… With a star-studded list of supporters including Dame Judy Dench, Jamie Dornan, Emilia Fox, Benedict Cumberbatch and The Saturdays to name a few, the bash hopes to raise enough to add to the overall £2 million total they have raised so far thanks to the wintery bash.
Macmillan is one of the UK’s largest cancer charities and aims to support those suffering with the various forms of the disease as well as providing information and support for their friends and families. Whilst there are many cancer charities in existence, Macmillan’s unique approach to handling the social, emotional and practical impacts of cancer in order to improve the lives of those living with it sets them apart as one of the most supported charities in the country. Founded in 1911 by Douglas Macmillan, Macmillan today works with the National Cancer Research Institute in its’ aim for better cancer care.
Taking place at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London, the Macmillan Celebrity Christmas Stocking Auction is one of the biggest seasonal events on the charity calendar with plenty of donations towards the cause. This years’ theme was ‘A Night In Paris’ which allowed guests to be immersed in the magical Parisian atmosphere with live entertainment and a respectable guest list of celebs who contributed their ‘ideal Christmas gift’ to the auction. This included a range of luxury goods, exclusive holidays and one-off experiences to be claimed with the help of auctioneer Edward Rising of Sotheby’s.
This year The Saturdays’ chose a pair of our Miu Miu Metal Mix Cateye sunglasses in Black worth £175 from B Sunglasses for the auction which stood alongside a host of amazing prizes including a meal with Judi Dench at The Ivy, VIP tickets to the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Premiere, a private tour of the Fashion and Textiles Museum followed by tea for four at Zandra Rhodes penthouse and a trip to join Team Sky on a stage of the Tour De France.
The Saturdays’ singer Vanessa White certainly stole the show on Tuesday evening in a floor length black gown with starlet waves and red lips whilst actress Emilia Fox also donned a sophisticated black lace number. TV presented Zoe Hardman and DJ Phil Clifton hosted the event and pulled in donations over £195,0000 proving the event to be a roaring success once again!
