Fashion Week’s are well under-way now, and with the London shows done and dusted, we thought we go over the highlights of this seasons shows. From the classic Burberry show, to Victoria Beckham, Topshop Unique and House of Holland, there was plenty to see over the last week.
Can we all just step back a moment, and take in the greatness that was the Burberry show. They never fail to pull off an extraordinary display of their most beautiful garments. Along with the array of famous faces that make an appearance every year like style icon Alexa Chung, models Suki Waterhouse and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and also there was a special musical performance by Jake Bugg, it was definitely a show to remember.
But anyway let’s get down to the main show. Let’s just say there was plenty of t-shirt dress, panelled of course, shiny brocade mini dress all with a slight twist of retro. One thing that didn’t go a miss were the selection of coats, cashmere military jackets, glossy black trench coats, duffles and more. Once again Burberry didn’t disappoint.
Victoria, Victoria Beckham
Victoria Beckham has been on of the most respected designers within the fashion industry for many a year now and she never fails to surprise us with some incredible pieces, season after season, year after year.
This season was another great example of her work and how far she has come with how successful her brand has turned out to be. It was all about the bold colours and embroidery for her A/W 16/17 collection, along with single shoulder mini dresse
rs, 3D patterns, each and every piece had some relevance to the outdoors, which we love!
Topshop’s creative design consultant Geoffrey Finch stated “we wouldn’t want anything to be too proper, would we?” which explains the alter-ego theme running through the show, One half being the “proper” girl and the other being the “naughtier” side, an interesting twist to say the least.
There was lots of khaki green pieces from pencil military skirts and faux fur collared biker jackets to prim and proper collars, elegant fuchsia lace skirts, and a dazzling velvet tuxedo that defitinley got a few heads turning, there was more than enough choice in this seasons show.
With the rise of the fashion and beauty blogger, many in attendance to this years most popular shows, you can imagine how many photos were snapped whilst out and about in London over Fashion Week. The coverage and photography they manage to capture is just amazing!
We gifted a pair of our new Fendi Blink Cateye sunglasses to fashion blogger, Sophie Hannah Richardson so we thought we would share some of the snaps she posted throughout the week. You can shop the look here.
