Don’t let the title of the article fool you, but former Golden Couple of the 1990s; supermodel Kate Moss and actor Johnny Depp are being re-united for the first time since 1998…. in a Paul McCartney video.
The video for McCartney’s single Queenie Eye, filmed at London’s Abbey Road Studios, is set to star the pair who will finally be seen together onscreen for the first time in over ten years. They each agreed to a small part in the video as the former lovers are both close friends of former Beatles’ star Macca and his designer daughter Stella McCartney. The video is set to be a star-studded event which also sees Meryl Streep and Gary Barlow joining the cast.
Moss and Depp dated for four years from 1994 to 1998 and appeared together on the red carpet, in several intimate photo shoots and even on Channel 4’s ‘The Big Breakfast’. Yet the beautiful duo eventually separated shortly after their engagement leaving Mossy devastated. Heartbroken Moss, then just 23 , checked herself into infamous rehab clinic The Priory for ‘exhaustion’ and was said to have described the split as a ‘nightmare’.
The pair have reportedly avoided each other over the past two decades as the feelings between the two were fairly raw from the split so seeing them in the same room is creating quite a buzz in the world of celebrity. Following their public breakup, 50-year-old Depp began a long-term relationship with model Vanessa Paradis who went on to give birth to their children Lily-Rose and Jack before they split in 2012. He is now said to be dating actress Amber Heard whilst Kate, now 39 has been married to Jamie Hince of alt-rock band The Kills since 2011. Kate too has a daughter, Lila-Grace (born 2002) to ex-boyfriend and Dazed and Confused magazine editor Jefferson Hack and once dated drug addled hell-raiser Pete Doherty of The Libertines.
The world shall be watching with baited breath when the video is completed in a few weeks time and the reunion is creating plenty of onset excitement.
As two of our favourite SSW’s (that’s Serial Sunglasses Wearers to you guys), we’re just looking forward to seeing which shades they might be sporting.
