How to survive Black Friday

Black Friday is a pretty big deal among the hardened shoppers corp. The day after giving thanks for what we have, we immediately go crazy for the incredible Black Friday bargains; Can anyone really resist a good bargain?! However, on occasion certain shoppers push the boundaries a little too far, and that’s putting it lightly. With this in mind we thought we’d give you a B Sunglasses guide to staying safe this Black Friday.

  1. Hit the Gym
Have you ever seen the viral videos of shoppers grappling over half price TV sets like they’re in the WWE?! Well being physically prepared is the only way to prevent being bulldozed by the crazed lunatic who wouldn’t think twice about trampling you just to get their hands on a cheap widescreen Sony. We know it’s late, so if you haven’t been hitting the gym as much as you should then settle for a good nights sleep to make sure you’re sharp.
  2. Be Seen, Be Heard
With hoards of shoppers streaming through department store doors, it’s quite easy to get lost in the crowd. The best way to be seen is to wear something bright; we suggest a high-visibility jacket from your local hardware store. Another handy tip is that it would be advisable to carry a whistle at all times, remember the Friends episode where they go shopping for wedding dresses? Exactly like that, it could be the difference between life and death!

  1. Plan Ahead
As they say, fail to prepare, prepare to fail; Black Friday is not to be taken lightly. Have a strategic plan in place before hand and make sure everyone knows the designated route, leave nobody behind. Make sure everyone in your group knows where the designated meeting places are; we’re assuming you’re in a group it’s the only sane way to shop on Black Friday. Planning ahead will not only keep you safer but it will also help you take advantage of the best bargains.
  1. Be Vigilant
You’ve got your bargains, you’re all still in one piece, but that’s no reason to switch off just yet. Make sure you have a tight grip on your belongings at all times and if you see any suspicious looking characters be sure to alert a security guard and see if they can escort you to your car. Once you’re in the car take care when driving through the car parks, you wouldn’t want to go through all that trouble to stay safe and then be involved in a collision.
  1. Shop Online
All of the tips above are fairly sound advice when it comes to staying safe, however there are no guarantees that they will be successful. One way we can guarantee your physical safety is by shopping online. A few tips for online shopping safely: 1, only use trusted sites that are authorised dealers for the products they sell. 2, if you can, use a credit card instead of a debit card as it is usually easier to resolve issues when a payment has been made with a credit card. 3, don’t save any unnecessary personal details.
