A few days ago we saw some of the worlds’ most outstanding blokes all gathered together for this years’ GQ Men of the Year Awards in association with Hugo Boss. What really makes the awards special is the sheer variety of celebrities getting recogised as the best in their respective industry. From new age grime phenomenon Stormzy to premier league winning Italian meastro Antonio Conte. The range of talents was enormous but they all have one thing in common, they are unbearably cool.
First, the sponsors
The GQ Men of the Year awards were in association with luxury fashion house and renowned purveyors of the finest suits, Hugo Boss. We saw a lot of examples of the exquisite Hugo Boss suiting on show, with a particularly dashing number from Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin. More on him later. There was even a few celebs seen wearing some of the latest Hugo Boss Eyewear collection, including products from both Hugo Boss Glasses as well as some dark lens aviators from the Hugo Boss Sunglasses collection.
Definitely one of the best series to come out in the past few years, and one of movie streaming platform Netflix’s greatest accomplishments. The unknown teenagers set the world ablaze after their stella performances in this nostalgic sci-fi teen thriller. Winona Ryder once again proved why shes one of the best in the business with her performance but it was the boys Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo and Noah Schnapp and not forgetting Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven that really made the show what it is. With everyone excited following teasers for a season two, the boys were at the GQ Men of the Year Awards to pick up their well deserved prize. All of them dressed “strangely” well.
One of the highlights of the awards was definitely Grime artist Stormzys’ speech. The rapper picked up the Copper Dog Whisky Solo Artist of the Year with GQ justifying their decision by saying “Not only can he rap and sing, he’s remained one of London’s most inspiring young men, encouraging his listeners to vote, pray and speak openly about mental health.”
Current Chelsea boss and Italian footballing legend was another winner at the GQ Men of the Year awards, picking up an award for special achievement of the year. Conte led Chelsea FC to a record amount of wins in a single season, and it was his first ever season in the Premier League. Not only that, the Italian always looks like he’s just walked out of a Milanese luxury fashion house after getting his suit fitted. Also judging from this image back from his playing days, it looks like his hair might have had a revamp because it’s floppy, wavy goodness is a defining feature of the tacticians touchline style.
Here’s what shades we think Antonio Conte would wear
