Fighting and fashion are not necessarily two factors you associate with each other, but we think we have a pretty strong case for why Conor McGregor is one of the world’s biggest superstars to be rocking the fashion world right now. In the run up to his epic blockbuster crossover battle with Floyd “money” Mayweather, we have seen Conor McGregor adorning some pretty out-there garments and we love it.
Obviously the whole concept of the press conferences is to generate as much of a buzz around the fight as possible, and nobody does this better than Conor Mcgregor. The expected trash talking has been taken to another level already, and it looks like McGregor might actually be starting to get under Mayweather’s skin. Fighting talk aside, it is McGregor’s fashion choice that has got a lot of people talking.
His first suit choice looked like a superbly crafted display of pinstripe tailoring, but on closer inspection the pinstripes were made up of a crude message for Floyd. Clever or ridiculous, you have to admit it is original.
Next Conor McGregor has turned up in a huge polar bear-like fur coat, with nothing on underneath. Yes, we agree that the UFC stars’ outfits are often completely outrageous, but this is a huge part of the mans persona and what has made him so popular. Not only this, but the star has featured some amazing items of clothing across his social media from some of our favourite designers.
Clearly, McGregor is a big fan of Gucci. Seen here wearing a dashing red short sleeved Gucci shirt which is bang on trend this summer, you can buy this shirt now from Mr Porter. If you are wanting to shop his sunglasses, check out these Saint Laurent Clubmasters. Conor McGregor has a larger than life persona, which blends perfectly with his bold wardrobe. This makes him a perfect sartorial model for designers to show off their more extravagant designs and is a refreshing example of alternate ways of luxury styling that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
One of the more noticeable trends that has emerged on the high street recently is the oversize aviator glasses trend. Many would argue that it was McGregor who has started this trend off particularly among men, after he was seen at numerous press conferences and appearances prior to his last few high profile UFC title fights. One brand that has welcomed this trend with open arms is Levis; check out their Aviator glasses frame here.
We have saved our favourite look until last. Spotted at the Grand National, Conor McGregor was wearing an open Louis Vuitton short sleeved shirt finished off with a brand new pair of these Gucci Flip Top Pilot Sunglasses that have just arrived here at B Sunglasses. They are definitely one of our favourite styles to come out of this summers’ collections, and are for the risk takers among us.
