Miu Miu, the masters of modern, unique femininity, are currently front lining the fashion world due to their latest bold new ad campaign as well as some seriously exciting social media advancements.
Founded in 1992, by Miucca Prada, Miu Miu offers feminine edge and modern fun. Whilst the brand shares the same head as its sister Prada, it is very much a unique brand in its own right, offering a diverse mix of bold colours and styles in contrast to Prada’s famed minimalist sleekness. The brand forefronts the fashion world as an icon for rebellion, freedom of expression and diversity. Extremely feminine and anti-conformist, Miu Miu releases collections jammed with vibranc colour schemes, playful shapes and modern materials. It was no surprise that just a year after its launch, Muccia Prada received the Council of Fashion Designers of America Best International Designer Award for her Miu Miu collections.
The new AW17 Ad Campaign reaffirms why Miu Miu is unrivalled in fashion for modernity and uniqueness. Featuring a star-studded cast of models and actresses, including Kate Moss, Jean Campbell, sisters Adwoa and Kesewa Aboah, and Moonlight’s Naomi Harris the campaign is an intensely coloured portrayal of strong femininity in New Orleans. A diverse mix of colours, tones and textures front the images as the stars showcase Miu Miu’s lates collection of brightly-coloured faux furs and translucent plastics sheath feathered dropwaist dresses. Psychedelic prints, vibrant head pieces, glittering earrings and 70’s knitware set against a backdrop of New Orleans’s iconic landmarks and landscapes such as the bayou and the august Preservation Hall. Overgrown and alive, the choice of New Orleans for the ad campaign is highly effective in creating an intense energy. LOVE editor-in-chief, Katie Grand, styles the campaigned and Alasdair McLellen photographs, a fifth timer for Miu Miu.
Miu Miu said of their campaign: “In certain places and amidst certain sounds, time seemingly circles itself. Throughout the untamed, thick-aired Mississippi bayou, draped with Spanish moss, the siren of insects is interlaced with jazz melodies somehow both timeless and avant-garde. In the deep American South, and more specifically the port of New Orleans, patois more than a dialect, it’s a way of life. Everything here is a deeply textured bricolage, full of tension and wild energy.”
Miu Miu’s self-professed wild energy breathes character into every pair of sunglasses they create.
These cut out lens square sunglasses by Miu Miu show they’re from fashion royalty through their expertly sculpted metal and acetate square frame, which is given a quirky twist with cut out grey gradient lenses.
Another style by Miu Miu that adds flare to any outfit, these sunglasses reinvent the traditional 1950’s cateye with a decorative silhouette and leather detailing. Featuring in both a light Havana and a bold black, the feminine, playful spirit of the brand shines through.
A creative two tone lens makes these sunglasses one of a kind. Rimless and with temples and bridge crafted from lightweight gold metal with exposed screws, these sunglasses are contemporary and chic. Each pair of unique sunglasses created by Miu Miu are presented in a luxury velour pink velour sunglasses to add further style to your handbag.
