There’s no doubt that 2014 has been one hell of a year in fashion, film and just about everything else! To celebrate the incoming of 2015 we look at the highlights of the year and prepare for a another 12 months of wardrobe wonder…
Solange Knowles wedding had more style than Milan Fashion Week could shake a stick at!
This year our sartorial inspiration has varied from the ever-eclectic Solange Knowles – THAT wedding jumpsuit? Divine! – to Jennifer Lawrence and her ever-amazing abilities to grow out cropped hair in style. 12 Years A Slave actress Lupita N’yongo and Amal Almuddin Clooney emerged as the newcomers of the red carpet this year proving that they’re just as worth their salt as any of the heavy-hitters in front of a camera. Lupita wowed and amazed as she collected her abundance of accolades in a ever-changing colour-wheel of stunning ballgowns whilst Amal finally wed George Clooney at a small ceremony in the most beautiful Oscar De La Renta gown.
In fact, ‘girl power’ has definitely been on the agenda this year and we absolutely adored Emma Watson’s grown up sophisticated yet subtly feminine chic as she gave her ‘He For She’ speech at the UN. Taylor Swift has also had us swooning with a cool Pop Princess look which has varied from ’50s beauty to ironic hip hop star 0 perfectly sound tracked by her feisty new album ‘1989’.
On the high fashion front, last years’ grunge-catwalk favourite Cara Delevingne has been battling out at fashion week with her pals Malaika Firth, Suki Waterhouse and Joan Smalls – not to mention the newest face on the runway Kendall Jenner. Those long dark tresses may say ‘Kardashian’, but her sophisticated style ultimately says ‘supermodel’.
Incredibly we found it extremely difficult to pick just one reigning title Queen this year with Emmy Rossum, Charlotte Dellal, Diane Kruger, Victoria Beckham, Emma Stone and Blake Lively all serving as strong favourites of ours. Blake in fact has been flying the flag for pregnant ladies everywhere – and that’s no small feat! However, our best dressed celebrity this year has to be Poppy Delevingne whose earthy yet glamorous look of tousled blonde hair and vintage-meets-high fashion ensembles have had us swooning all summer for her festival shades! If only we didn’t have to choose just one! J-Lo and Beyonce may have nailed the Red Carpet look but – much like the great Alexa Chung before her – the pared down off-duty style is where Poppy really shines!
Emma Watson gives her ‘He For She’ speech at the UN. Watson’s style – as well as her wise words on Feminism- have certainly left a mark here at B Sunglasses!
Amal Almuddin wedded the eternal bachelor George Clooney. Truly a woman of impeccable style, taste and patience!
Stunning actress Emma Stone – seen here at a Amazing Spiderman 2 screening – is a top fave in B Sunglasses HQ
